Job Description:

Are you passionate about helping students grow in confidence, curiosity, and English proficiency? Hummingbird Academy is a curriculum-focused English learning center in Hsinchu. We combine literacy instruction, project-based learning, educational technology, and student-centered teaching practices to create engaging learning experiences for children ages 6–15.

We are seeking a full-time English teacher to join our team beginning in August 2026. It’s a 40-hour work week, including lesson preparation and administrative responsibilities.

Responsibilities
As a teacher at Hummingbird Academy, you will:
• Teach engaging English classes using our structured curriculum while incorporating your own creativity and teaching style.
• Create a positive, supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation, critical thinking, and a growth mindset.
• Use educational technology and interactive teaching strategies such as collaborative learning, role-play, Reader's Theatre, presentations, and research-based projects.
• Prepare lesson plans and instructional materials to support student learning.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and school initiatives.
• Write student communication reports and work closely with families to support student progress.

Qualifications
We are looking for a teacher who:
• Is eligible for an English teaching work permit in Taiwan (Must be a native speaker from a native English-speaking country).
• Has classroom teaching experience with elementary and/or middle school students.
• Has strong lesson-planning and classroom management skills.
• Is comfortable creating teaching materials and presentations using tools such as Canva.
• Has experience integrating educational technology into instruction.
• Enjoys collaborating with colleagues and contributing ideas to curriculum development.
• Has teaching experience in Taiwan (preferred).
