A school in Liaoning province currently has a vacancy for an English as a foreign language teacher. The school has been in operation since 2009 and is run by an Englishman.
The school teaches pre-schoolers and elementary pupils. The pre-school classes are mostly focused on speaking and listening and development of vocabulary. The elementary program entails the teaching of listening, speaking, reading, writing and basic grammar. The school has its own English as a foreign language program consisting of detailed syllabi, books, lesson plans and classroom materials for each level.
About Liaoning Province
Liaoning is a province in Northeast China. It has a population of about 43 million people.Liaoning borders the Yellow Sea and the Bohai Sea in the south, North Korea in the southeast, Jilin Province to the northeast, Hebei Province to the west, and Inner Mongolia to the northwest. Liao" is an ancient name for this region, which was adopted by the Liao Dynasty which ruled this area between 907 and 1125. "Ning" means "peacefulness".
The high-speed train journey to Beijing is only about 5 hours. The cost of living is also quite low in Liaoning with many foreign teachers saving up to 80% of salary. The average salary of local Chinese citizens is between 2,000 and 3,000 RMB.
Job Responsibilities
The teacher would have to prepare and deliver EFL lessons to preschoolers and elementary pupils.
The teacher would have to participate in training, become familiar with the curriculum and be receptive to feedback.
The teacher should conduct him or herself in a professional manner .
Remuneration and Benefits
30 instructional hours per week
15,000 RMB to 20,000 RMB per month after tax.
Free fully furnished apartment.
Free pre-paid single flight to China.
For those within China (5,000RMB settlement allowance).
2 weeks vacation in February and August.
Apartment will be located a few minutes on foot from the school.
Requirements for those applying from abroad.
An interview would first have to be conducted. Following a successful interview, the following documents need to be submitted to us here at the school in order to apply for the Z notification letter:
A bachelor's degree authenticated by the Chinese embassy.
A criminal record check authenticated by the Chinese embassy.
A TEFL certificate.
A preference for those with a PGCE or B.Ed.
A full resume with contactable referees.
The school will then e-mail the Z notification letter to the applicant which can be used to apply for the Z visa at the nearest Chinese embassy. The initial Z visa issued by the Chinese embassy will be for 30 days and will be extended to 1 year on arrival.
Note: The applicant does not need to do a health test in his/her home country ; however, a health test will have to be completed on arrival.
The Chines embassy may ask for proof of vaccination.
