Home School: Academic Tutors for Primary Students
GK Consultants Co. Ltd. Thailand is actively looking to recruit more in person Homeschooling tutors for Primage age children
Applicants must be experienced teachers who have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, PGCE, QTS or an equivalent teaching credential. Flexibility and a sense of humour are essential qualities of the ideal candidate. Please note that most of our clients prefer female teachers to work with their children. Also, those teachers who are experienced in working with children who have learning difficulties will be of particular interest.
Tutors with the following attributes will have a distinct advantage:
• Native English Speakers from the UK who have a clear English accent and who can train students to speak with that accent.
• Ability to demonstrate that they are fully cognizant with the Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 National Curriculum of England in terms of content, pedagogy and assessment procedures. Teachers must be able to teach across the curriculum, provide customised instruction in English language, Mathematics and Science, although Art and Exercise would be useful additions to the curriculum provided. The tutor will write individual weekly reports on the content covered, progress made and ongoing targets for future learning. The tutor will provide an exciting, fun and dynamic learning environment.
• The tutor must be fully vaccinated against Covid-Sars-2.
In person interviews of short-listed candidates will be held at the GK Consultants House in Methi Nivet Village near the Emporium/EmQuartier shopping and entertainment complex.
Applicants must include a detailed targeted Cover Letter of Application, professional Curriculum Vitae, first page of their Passport with the contact information of two referees who can support the application. The referees must have been immediate line managers in a teaching situation.
A short video clip of the applicant introducing themselves and stating why they believe that they would be a good fit for these positions would be a useful addition to the application, though not essential.
Our teachers are expected to be in possession of a current Enhanced Background Check Certificate (DBS) if they have been resident in Thailand for at least 6 months or the equivalent document from their home country if they have been resident in Thailand for less than 6 months.
Please note that these are a freelance positions and neither a work permit nor medical insurance is provided.
*Currently, we are NOT looking for teachers of lower level English courses such as: Conversational, Business English or any other “English in the Workplace” type courses.
