Do research on Korea as a country in general and learn about the landscape, people, culture, and food. This will help minimize any culture shocks and will bring awareness to keep an open mind to the differences between both countries.

2. Document preparation consumes the most amount of time (1-3 months), so we suggest that the applicant start preparing the necessary documents 4-5 month prior to his/her available starts date.

3. We suggest that you talk to various people and choose one or two recruiters who you can trust and feel compatible working together with. A recruiter is not only there to place you at a school but will also be the person in assisting you throughout the whole recruitment process for comfortable arrival to Korea in accordance with a workable timeline for start date.

4. During the interview, ask questions about the students age group, the program set up, the curriculum layout, and goals of the hiring school.  A good portion of your time will be in relation to your employment so matching with a compatible age group of students and work culture is very important for a positive experience.

5. Your employment in Korea involves educating and encouraging young students so please always be mindful of that as your decision involves the development and growth of young Korean learners. Taking a personal interest to understand your students is very important and plays a key factor in the teacher’s development as well as there is a sense of reward that is gained when seeing them develop and progress.
