---More About Yuanlin---
Yuanlin is a small town by Asian standards, with about 126,000 residents. It is located in the central part of Taiwan about 30 miles from the west coast with seasonal temperatures more moderate than in the north and south. Largely unaffected by Typhoons.
Yuanlin's location is suitable for travel to other parts of the island. The capital city and largest in Taiwan, Taipei, is 50 minutes north by high speed train, while Kaohsiung is only 40 minutes south. The Second largest city, which also has a large expatriate population, Taichung, is a forty minute train ride north. You can live in a cheaper and more comfortable location but also enjoy the benefits of city life.
If you are interested in this position, please e-mail your resume and a recent photo so that we can set up a time to talk, either in person or via Skype. Thanks, and we look forward to hearing from you soon!
Sharing of a teacher' s teaching experience:
Being a teacher at the school for nearly 7 years, it has obviously treated me very well. I moved to Taiwan after my Graduates degree, ending up in Yuanlin purely by chance. What I found was a lovely town with everything at your doorstep; or a little further by train/coach. Beautiful Taiwanese mountains and nature walks are a short ride away, and it’s so easy to jump on the train to a big city. As for the school, it has a vibrant learning atmosphere focusing on creating a natural English environment. There is such a wealth of experience and positivity in teaching at Joy, with all of the staff working together to best teach each class. Joy has always given the opportunity to keep lessons fresh, allowing me to use the curricular guidelines while choosing the best way to present the materials. The position gives you a great balance of work and home life, without excessive marking and student reviewing. When you go home, your teaching has finished for the day!
