Teach with a complete curriculum, take two breaks free from student supervision, and have your evenings to yourself. EL Ellin is hiring an experienced, full-time English teacher for our Ilsan campus near Seoul.
The Position
Morning: Teach one kindergarten homeroom for ages 5–7, with up to 12 students and a Korean co-teacher.
Afternoon: Teach elementary classes that build speaking and writing skills through reading, discussion, and hands-on projects.
Monday, Wednesday, and Friday: 9:00 a.m.–6:20 p.m.
Tuesday and Thursday: 9:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
Start date: March 2027, with approximately two weeks of paid orientation in February.
What Your Workday Looks Like
All teaching materials provided. We supply the full curriculum, textbooks, teacher guides, and classroom materials. Lesson preparation time is built into your workday, so you can adapt lessons and bring your own ideas to class.
Two breaks you can take on your own. You’ll have a 45-minute lunch break and a separate 20-minute coffee break, both free from student supervision. We also provide a free hot lunch every workday.
Overtime is rare. Teachers typically pack up their belongings and leave the building within 5–10 minutes of their scheduled finish time.
Support from people who know the classroom. Our English-speaking leadership team listens when teachers raise a concern and works with them to find a solution. Our six native English-speaking teachers have been with us for an average of at least three years.
Pay, Housing, and Benefits
Base salary: ₩2,600,000–₩3,000,000 per month, depending on experience and qualifications.
Housing: Choose between school-provided furnished housing with a monthly rental value of around ₩600,000 or a ₩600,000 monthly housing stipend, in addition to your base salary. We’ll send you housing photos after your interview so you can see the apartment before you decide.
Time off: 15+ paid vacation days, plus Korean public holidays and Labor Day.
Additional benefits: Employer contributions to National Health Insurance and National Pension where applicable, severance for eligible teachers, and one-way airfare support for teachers relocating from overseas.
Visa support: E-2 sponsorship or extension support for eligible candidates.

📌 You need to be from one of the following counties to teach English in South Korea: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa. If you are not from one of those countries, you can still teach English in most other countries. This requirement is specific to South Korea and school's can only issue visa's to teachers from those listed countries.

⏳ Due to the high number of applications the schools receive they may not be able to respond to every application. If you don't hear back from them within a week or so, it's best to move on to the next job.

⚠️ When applying for jobs, you should NEVER have to pay to apply. You should also NEVER have to pay to buy anything which they then pay you back for later. NEVER PAY FOR ANYTHING! Also always verify you're actually talking to the company in the job post and not an imposter. Scams in TEFL are rampant, be careful!
