International Language Coaching Inc. is seeking highly qualified, professional, native or native-fluent English language coaches to be team members for an elite Tokyo-based language school for online coaching of adult Japanese students.
Rate: Japanese yen - ¥1,000 per 25-minute private lesson & ¥2,000 per 50-minute group lesson
Lesson availability: Monday to Saturday, 5:00AM to 00:30AM, Japan Standard Time
Minimum coach availability requirement: 15 hours per week
Payment: Transferred monthly prior to the 15th
Online platforms: Company provided (free) Zoom Pro account, Microsoft 365 account and Platinum School scheduling system
Curriculum: Company provided (free) Pearson & other digital material
Students are assigned to the coach for the complete 1-year program
Fixed schedule & fixed lessons/students
Extremely stable earnings
Coaches are paid even if the student does not attend a lesson
Adult students (professionals & executives) - no children
99% of lessons are private, 25-minute lessons
Comprehensive training program
Mentors who actively support coach development throughout the relationship
English speaking Japanese consultant that supports the coach & student
We use the term coach, instead of teacher, as our coaches do not drill grammar but use a holistic, goal-oriented approach to support our students to reach their English communication goals.
IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Native English speakers of the following countries: Canada, UK, New Zealand, India, South Africa, Australia, America, etc
Native-fluent English speakers
6 months online coaching experience preferred. However, applicants with transferrable skills are welcome to apply
Home office/workspace with stable internet
Excellent communication & people skills
Accountable, responsible & professional
Equipment required: computer & noise-cancelling headset. Phones & tablets are not acceptable

Inform us which Japan Standard Time shifts you are interested in by starting the application with 'Early bird' for morning shifts or 'Night owl' for evening shifts

We have a high demand for Monday to Friday mornings, as well as all day Saturday. Priority will be given to candidates who can commit to Monday to Friday mornings and at least half of Saturday.
Note: We also offer classes during typical business hours; however these are not the core working hours.
We do not interview applicants who are travelling/working (digital nomad/tourist/etc) unless documentation that explicitly allows work is provided
During the interview, an internet speed test will be conducted so the applicant must attend the interview in the location where the lessons will be conducted. We do not conduct interviews if the applicant is traveling.
Payment is via Wise only (wise.com). Applicants must have or be able to create an account/receive payment on Wise.
