Woosong University in Daejon, South Korea, is looking for a non-tenure track full-time Assistant Professor of English as a Foreign Language to start on September 1st, 2025. The position is renewable based on performance and university needs.
**Requirements for Applicants**
Candidates need either two years of full-time university teaching experience along with a two-year master's degree, or three years of such experience along with a one-year master's degree. Alternatively, a doctoral degree is acceptable, with teaching experience being beneficial but not mandatory. Teaching experience at the primary- or secondary-school level in your home country is also valid if it required a government-issued teaching license.
Degrees in education, English, teaching English, or linguistics will be given special consideration.
**Responsibilities and Duties**
The selected candidate will teach up to 20 hours of classes, provide academic counseling, participate in student clubs and committees, and engage in professional development activities. Administrative duties may include roles in Academic Affairs, Human Resources, Operations Management, Student Services, Research, Translation, Proofreading, and International Affairs. Bilingual applicants (Korean and English) with translation and interpretation skills may have unique administrative opportunities.
**Benefits**
Apart from the base salary, benefits include housing or a housing stipend, flight reimbursement for overseas applicants, settlement allowance, paid vacation, health insurance, pension membership, and opportunities for financial compensation for publishing in recognized journals.
