Job Description:

Crane International School Myanmar (CISM) is an Accredited Cambridge International School, established in 1997. The school is currently searching for a talented Music teacher to foster the love of music to our young minds.

Job Description:
1. Manage the music department and inspire the joy of learning music to students aged 3-15
2. Plan and coordinate the programme of school events and festivals.
3. Oversee the stock of the school’s musical instruments and repair/purchase them when necessary.
4. Teach students to understand musical notes, theory, signing, and specific instruments in
accordance with the teacher’s knowledge and expertise.
5. Lead and develop musical ensembles and choirs.
6. Work closely with colleagues to practice in their classrooms for upcoming performances
7. Establish an effective and respectful working relationship with colleagues, parents, and other
stakeholders.
8. Must be willing to perform additional duties assigned by the school and attend staff meetings
and professional development training as necessary.
9. Follow school policies outlined in the employee handbook, including Child Safeguarding and
Health and Safety Policies.
10. Be willing to accompany students on field trips and school activities outside of instructional day
when needed.

Candidate Requirements:

1. Must have a Degree in Music. If not, at least a music-related diploma with a proven record of
teaching music to children.
2. Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in teaching music.
3. Must be able to teach multiple instruments to students, such as piano, guitar, violin, or recorder.
4. Must have good organizational and time-management skills.
5. Must have recommendation letters from the last 2 schools you worked at.
6. Must arrive in Yangon before January (our Second Semester).
