Meritton British International School, located in Chiang Mai, seeks a qualified and experienced native English-speaking Early Years Teacher to join our team at the beginning of 2026. This full-time role involves fostering a nurturing, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment where young learners can excel academically, socially, and emotionally through Values-based Education (VbE) and Enquiry-based Learning.
The ideal candidate will inspire curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning in young children. A comprehensive understanding of balancing structured teaching with play-based exploration is crucial for supporting children's early development and well-being.
Our Early Years section follows the UK's Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, focusing on learning through play, communication, and exploration. The Primary and Secondary schools follow the Cambridge International Curriculum, ensuring continuity throughout a child's educational journey.
Candidates must have a deep knowledge of the EYFS framework and pedagogy. Experience with phonics instruction, particularly using programs like Jolly Phonics, is highly valued. A bachelor's degree in Education or a bachelor’s degree with a recognized postgraduate teaching qualification, such as a PGCE with QTS, is required. Applicants should have at least two years of teaching experience in an Early Years setting, demonstrating the ability to deliver engaging, child-centered lessons.
Native-level English proficiency is essential. The teacher will develop children's language and communication skills through interaction, storytelling, and structured literacy activities. Effective communication will be key to success.
