Learning Support Teacher Position
Australian International School Bangkok is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Teacher for Foundation to Year 12 students. The successful candidate will work in collaboration with the Head of Primary, Head of Secondary, and Homeroom teachers to develop and implement support plans for students experiencing challenges in accessing the curriculum. These students may have diagnosed learning disabilities such as dyslexia or dyscalculia or may be experiencing educational transitions or other factors affecting their learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide a range of learning strategies to enable students to achieve outcome targets in specific curriculum areas.
- Maintain clear communication with school leadership, parents, and teachers.
- Suggest teaching strategies and resources for teachers.
- Operate as part of the Student Support Team, including the EAL Coordinator and Heads of Primary and Secondary.
- Conduct regular team meetings and provide advice to Kindergarten and Nursery teachers.
- Deliver support through various modes including one-on-one, small group, and in-class support.
- Maintain a log of learning activities and provide fortnightly reports to teachers and parents.
- Prepare assessment reports for inclusion in students' official transcripts on a semester basis.
- Conduct workshops for teachers and Teaching Assistants on supporting students with learning needs.
Performance and Reporting:
- The Learning Support Teacher reports to the Head of Primary and will be evaluated based on communication quality, effectiveness of individual support plans, and the quality of maintained student data.
Work Environment:
- The position includes a personal office space, known as the Rainbow Learning Room, equipped with a laptop and necessary resources.
