School: KK International School (KKIS), Thailand
Location: Remote, Northwestern Thailand (Thai-Myanmar Border)
Job Type and Start: Full-time to start May 2025

Myanmar border, currently in the process of constructing a new school complex in a new

Thailand standards to the British Curriculum and shape the future of education in a remote,
diverse, geographical, and cross-cultural setting.
Job Summary:
The Primary Music Teacher (Years 1-6) is responsible for delivering engaging and creative
music lessons within the framework of the British Curriculum. The role focuses on fostering
musical expression, performance skills, and a love for music while integrating life skills and
the 4Cs (Communication, Collaboration, Creativity, Critical Thinking) into lessons. The
teacher will create a dynamic, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment that encourages
students to develop confidence in their musical abilities.
Responsibilities
1. Teaching & Curriculum Delivery:
• Plan and deliver engaging music lessons aligned with the British Curriculum.
• Teach a range of musical skills, including singing, rhythm, instrument playing, and
music appreciation.
• Use digital tools and multimedia resources to enhance student learning.
• Embed life skills and the 4Cs (Communication, Collaboration, Creativity, Critical
Thinking) into teaching to promote holistic development.
• Foster students’ appreciation for global musical traditions while encouraging cultural
awareness and expression.
2. Assessment & Progress Monitoring:
• Conduct formative and summative assessments to evaluate student learning and
musical development.
• Maintain detailed records and provide reports to parents and school leadership.
• Upload all documentation on Google Drive and student interaction with Google
Classroom.
• Provide additional support for English Language Learners (ELL) in music education.
3. Supervisory Duties:
• Supervise Classroom Assistants during practical sessions and rehearsals.
• Assist with school-wide performances, concerts, and musical showcases.
• Support after-school clubs and extracurricular activities related to music.
4. Collaboration & Teamwork:
• Work collaboratively with a diverse, international team of teachers and
administrative staff.
• Actively participate in professional development sessions, staff meetings, and school
events.
• Coordinate with homeroom teachers to integrate music education into the broader
curriculum.
5. Communication with Stakeholders:

• Maintain regular communication with parents/guardians, updating them on
students’ progress, challenges, and achievements via KKIS communication platform
and tools.
• Attend parent-teacher meetings and other school-organized events.
6. Additional Responsibilities:
• Follow KKIS policies, including safeguarding, health and safety, and child protection.
• Maintain and organize resources and materials for music classes.
• Participate in extracurricular activities, school trips, and special events to enhance
student engagement in music education.
Education and Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in music in a school setting.
Skills:
• Strong classroom management, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in using digital tools for music composition and performance.
• Familiarity with the British Curriculum and international school teaching practices
preferred.
Compliance:
• Must provide a police background check from the candidate’s home country.
• Submission of two references from former employers or character referees is
mandatory.
Salary and Benefits
• Salary negotiated dependent on music teaching hours and ability to cover other
classes to make up total teaching hours, according to KKIS Staff Policy.
• Non-B Visa and Work Permit provided.
• 12 months' salary (minimum) with housing allowance (5K THB), Social Security Fund.
• Friendly and supportive international team and comfortable working environment.
• Annual leave and public holidays in accordance with the Thai government.
• Full contract with probationary period (3 months).
