About the Position
Are you passionate about shaping young minds through Social Studies education? We at LSP International School are looking for a dedicated Teacher of Social Studies to inspire students in Grades 7-10 with a focus on US History. You will have the opportunity to teach Advanced Placement (AP) courses, encouraging students to think critically about historical events and their impact on current affairs globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the US curriculum
- Foster students’ understanding of historical events and social structures
- Teach a variety of social studies topics including civics, economics, and world history
- Prepare students for college-level challenges through AP courses
- Encourage critical thinking and analytical skills through collaborative activities
- Provide personalized support to meet students' learning needs
- Create an inclusive classroom environment that promotes academic excellence
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance student learning
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Studies, History, Political Science, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- Teaching qualification (TEFL, TESOL, CELTA, or equivalent)
- Minimum one year of teaching experience
- Native English speaker with a strong understanding of US curriculum
- Experience in teaching AP courses is a plus
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
