About Luxelakes Cloudland International Kindergarten
Luxelakes Cloudland International Kindergarten is a high-quality international bilingual kindergarten located in the beautiful Luxelakes Eco City in Chengdu, Sichuan Province.
Established in 2023, Cloudland was developed in partnership with International Schools Services (ISS) and provides English and bilingual English-Mandarin early-years programs for young children.
Our kindergarten is designed around the belief that the environment is the “third teacher.” Surrounded by water, greenery and natural landscapes, our modern campus provides children with extensive indoor and outdoor spaces where they can explore, discover, play and learn.
At Cloudland, we believe that young children learn best through meaningful experiences, relationships, inquiry and play. Our approach places each child at the center of the learning process and supports their social, emotional, physical, language and cognitive development.

We are now looking for an experienced and passionate International Homeroom Teacher to join our Early Years teaching team in February 2027.
1. Position Overview
The International Homeroom Teacher will be responsible for creating and delivering high-quality learning experiences for children approximately 2 to 4 years of age.
This is a professional homeroom teaching position rather than a traditional English-language teaching role.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for curriculum planning and implementation, classroom management, observation and assessment, documentation of children’s learning, parent communication, and close collaboration with Chinese co-teachers and teaching assistants.
We are looking for an educator who understands how young children learn and develop and who can create a warm, engaging, safe and inquiry-rich learning environment.
2. Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate, inquiry-based and play-based learning experiences for young children.
Create a safe, welcoming, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment in which children feel confident to explore and learn.
Develop learning experiences that support children’s social, emotional, physical, language and cognitive development.
Observe, document and assess each child’s learning, development, interests and individual needs.
Use observations and assessment information to inform future curriculum planning and differentiated learning experiences.
Adapt teaching strategies and activities to accommodate different learning styles, developmental stages and individual needs.
Establish positive classroom routines and age-appropriate expectations while promoting children’s independence, confidence and self-management.
Work collaboratively with Chinese co-teachers, teaching assistants and other members of the Early Years team.
Participate actively in collaborative curriculum planning, teaching reflection and professional discussions.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of children’s learning and development.
Communicate regularly and professionally with parents regarding their child’s progress, development and wellbeing.
Participate in parent-teacher conferences, family activities, school celebrations, open days and other community events.
Maintain high standards of child safeguarding, health and safety within the classroom and throughout the school environment.
Make effective use of both indoor and outdoor learning environments as extensions of the classroom.
Encourage children to explore nature and develop curiosity, creativity, problem-solving skills and a positive attitude toward learning.
Participate in school meetings, professional development, training programs and relevant accreditation processes.
Contribute positively to the continued development of the kindergarten’s international and bilingual Early Years program.
Demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, cultural sensitivity and a strong commitment to the school community.
3. Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or above in Early Childhood Education, Education, Child Development or a related field.
A minimum of two years of relevant teaching experience in a kindergarten, preschool, Early Years setting or international school.
Demonstrated experience working with young children, particularly toddlers, Nursery, Pre-Kindergarten or Junior Kindergarten age groups.
Experience with EYFS, IB PYP or another recognized international Early Years curriculum is highly desirable.
PGCE, QTS, state/provincial teaching certification, Early Childhood teaching license or another recognized professional teaching qualification is preferred.
TEFL or TESOL certification may be considered an additional advantage where relevant to the candidate’s professional background.
Native-level or highly proficient English communication skills.
A sound understanding of early childhood development and child-centered educational practices.
Experience with inquiry-based, play-based and differentiated learning approaches is preferred.
Ability to observe, assess and document young children’s learning and development effectively.
Strong classroom management, communication, organization and interpersonal skills.
Ability and willingness to work collaboratively within an international and bilingual teaching team.
Strong cultural awareness and the ability to adapt successfully to living and working in China.
First Aid, CPR, child safeguarding, child development or child psychology training would be an advantage.
4. Personal Qualities

The successful candidate should be curious and creative as an educator, open to new ideas, comfortable working collaboratively, and committed to continuous professional development.
You should be able to build positive relationships with children, colleagues and parents while demonstrating professionalism, reliability and respect for different cultures and perspectives.
Most importantly, we are looking for an educator who sees Early Years teaching as much more than teaching English and who genuinely values the importance of early childhood education.
5. Salary and Employment Package
Monthly salary of up to RMB 30,000, depending on academic qualifications, professional teaching credentials, relevant Early Years experience and overall suitability for the position.
