Copywriter Position – Facebook/Instagram Ad Script Writer
$3k/month paid upfront. Career change for English teachers who want out.
Look, we know if you're used to being an English teacher in Asia, you might think $3k/month is a lot of money—it isn't. It's actually quite low. But it's about the same amount most English teachers in Asia make with a pointless job that never goes anywhere.
We're offering you (Americans, Canadians, Brits, Australians, Irish, anyone who's spent at least 20 years living in Western countries) an opportunity to be making $10-12k/month in 12 months. The job is fully remote. But in those 12 months, you will work more hours than you've ever worked in your life, and we will push you to perform more than you've ever been pushed.
Don't ask us about vacation or "what are the hours?" You're here to perform and help us make money.
We pay upfront because we're investing in you. Yes, we pay you your salary BEFORE your first day of work. In 6-7 months, you should be making us $80-100k per month in profit. That's why we're willing to train you, pay you before you start working, and invest in your development.
This isn't charity.
WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY BE DOING
You're writing scripts for Facebook and Instagram video ads. You come up with angles and concepts, write the script, send it to our video editors, they send back the video, you review it and give feedback until it's polished. Repeat. 5-10 video ads per week, consistently.
You're also the "director" in this process. Our video editors execute, but you're responsible for the creative direction. If the ad doesn't convert, that's on you.
We have multiple e-commerce brands right now—pet supplies and kitchen hardware—and we're launching 4 more brands in 2026. The products don't matter. The principles of selling are always the same. Once you learn this, you can sell anything.
We will coach you 1 on 1, BUT fundamentally, you're expected to write and write and write consistently. Do a lot of research on your assigned product through customer reviews, Reddit, Twitter. We provide A LOT of training but we will not force you to do the countless hours of research and thinking required to write copy that converts. That's on you.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
We're looking for someone who feels like they're at the bottom. Someone who thinks there's no way to make real money. Someone who's stuck.
Here's the reality: $3k/month is very, very low for the amount of work you'll be doing in 6 months. We need someone who is willing to spend all their free time after work reading, learning, and doing research. Your salary WILL go up with performance—and it goes up QUICKLY. In 12 months, you should be making around $10k/month.
If you think English teaching is a real career and you're happy with that—stop reading. You're not who we're looking for.
If you're an experienced copywriter—stop reading. You're too difficult to train. You have habits and ways of doing things that don't work for us. We want someone with a fresh mind.
We want someone who:
Has spent at least 20 years living in Western countries (Canada, US, UK, Australia, Ireland)—not citizenship, actual time living there
Is already living in Hong Kong timezone (+/- 3 hours)—don't apply if you're not already here
Is willing to work 40+ hours a week AND invest in self-development outside of work—reading books, studying, learning—because 40 hours isn't enough to get past the learning curve
Understands this is a career change and it's not going to be easy
If you just want to chill and have a nice life in Thailand—please don't waste our time by applying. There are plenty of online teaching jobs already, and rent is cheap in Chiang Mai. You don't need to put yourself through all this hard work just to live in Thailand and have drinks every weekend.
But if your goals are to maybe move back home to America, Canada, or the UK and buy a house because you have a career that's in high demand—then please message us.
If you want work-life balance, we're not the team to work for. If you want to know exactly what hours you're working and never work a minute more, don't apply. If you're not willing to push yourself harder than you've ever pushed yourself, this isn't for you.
THE MONEY
Starting: $3,000/month, paid upfront before you start working
Growth: Performance-based. Create winning ads, viral ads, and your base scales to $4,000/month + bonuses
12-month target: $10,000-11,000/month total compensation if you put in the work
We hire fast and fire even faster. If you start the job and you're lazy and obviously not putting in the hours, rest assured that you'll be swiftly fired. This isn't to say that this is some kind of sweatshop—but we've hired plenty of English teachers in the past and some think that "working" means being alive. Working means putting a conscious effort into accomplishing your tasks at the highest level of quality ever... and doing that every single day.
We're not here to hold your hand. We'll train you—extensive one-on-one mentorship—but you have to want it. You have to be hungry. If you're not, you'll wash out in a few months and we'll all have wasted our time.
IS THIS A SCAM ‼️???
Why do we pay upfront? Because we're not scamming you—we're investing in you.
We expect ROI in 6-7 months. By then, you should be creating ads that generate $80-100k/month in profit for us. That's why we're willing to take the risk of paying you before you've proven anything. We're betting on you.
We've hired from Teast before, and we get plenty of people who say we're trying to scam them because "who pays upfront?" and "who pays $3k/month for no experience?" Don't waste our time emailing us about this. If you think somehow us wiring you a salary to your bank account before you start working is a scam, you are definitely not smart enough to be working with us. Or at least, email us explaining how you think us paying you before you work is a scam. How would such a scam work? We'd love to hear it.
WHY WE DON'T WANT EXPERIENCED COPYWRITERS
They're too difficult to train. They think they know how to write ads. They have preconceived notions, habits, frameworks that don't align with what works for us.
We want someone we can train from scratch. Fresh mind, no bad habits, no ego about "how ads should be written." You come in, you learn our way, you execute. That's it.
If you have copywriting experience and you think you're different—you're not. Don't apply.
THE TRAINING
We're providing extensive one-on-one mentorship. Not a course we're selling you. Not a program. Real training because we expect you to make us money.
We're not being nice. We're being smart. We invest in you early because in 6-7 months, you should have an amazing ROI for us. The training will teach you how to sell just about everything—and we're launching 4 more brands in 2026 in different niches. The principles don't change.
This isn't about you becoming a better person. This is about you becoming profitable for us. If that sounds cold, good. Now you understand what this is.
REQUIREMENTS
→
Background: 20+ years living in Western countries (US, Canada, UK, Australia, Ireland)
→
Location: Already living in Hong Kong timezone (+/- 3 hours)—remote work, but you need to be here
→
Hours: 40/week minimum, but success requires self-development outside of work. So realistically, you're working 60-70 hours per week. After the first 7-8 months, the workload drops because you've gotten past the learning curve—but the learning curve is very steep and it needs a lot of time initially.
→
Tools: Google Docs. That's mostly it.
→
Start: ASAP
HOW TO APPLY
This is a writing job. So here's your application:
Send us 1-2 paragraphs that sell yourself to us.
EMAIL YOUR APPLICATION TO
copywriterjob@mrpatchescorp.com
Selling yourself is the easiest thing to do because you know yourself better than anyone. Write 1-2 paragraphs that will make us feel like we NEED to reach out to you ASAP.
If you send us AI-generated slop, don't bother. We'll know immediately and your application goes straight to the trash. We are from the West too—don't waste our time if you didn't grow up in the West. You're selling to Western audiences, you need to understand how we think, feel, our culture, etc.
This is your first test. If you can't write 1-2 paragraphs that make us want to hire you, you're not the person for this job. Show us you can write copy that converts.
FINAL WORD
This job is not for most people. Most English teachers will read this and think we're assholes, or it's a scam, or it sounds too hard. Fine. Keep teaching English. We don't care.
But some of you will read this and think: Finally. Someone who's actually offering a real opportunity and not bullshitting me about "work-life balance" and "competitive salary."
If that's you, apply. Let's see if you're as good as you think you are.

📌 Please review the requirements to teach English in Online before you start applying for teaching positions. If the job post specifies "NES" or "Native English Speaker", it typically means applicants are required to be from one of the following countries: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, or South Africa. However, in some cases, this may indicate a preference rather than a strict requirement.

⏳ Due to the high number of applications the schools receive they may not be able to respond to every application. If you don't hear back from them within a week or so, it's best to move on to the next job.

⚠️ When applying for jobs, you should NEVER have to pay to apply. You should also NEVER have to pay to buy anything which they then pay you back for later. NEVER PAY FOR ANYTHING! Also always verify you're actually talking to the company in the job post and not an imposter. Scams in TEFL are rampant, be careful!
