Learn Satit Pattana School (LSP) in Bangkok is currently looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Social Studies Teacher for our ISP Program. This is a full-time, fixed-term position with a competitive salary starting at 60,000 THB per month, depending on qualifications and experience.
Role Overview:
We are seeking an educator with a strong enthusiasm for teaching Social Studies to students in Grades 9-10. The position involves teaching subjects such as Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Model United Nations (MUN), and World History, with opportunities to lead Advanced Placement (AP) courses. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to helping students understand the historical and social contexts of contemporary global and local issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging lessons in Social Studies, focusing on World History, SDGs, and MUN topics.
- Create a curriculum aligned with Thai and US educational standards, accommodating diverse learning needs.
- Enhance students' comprehension of historical and social structures relevant to current issues.
- Integrate topics like civics, economics, and geography to offer a comprehensive understanding of global and national issues.
- Teach AP courses such as AP Psychology and AP Macroeconomics, preparing students for college-level academics.
- Foster critical thinking, analysis, and discussion through inquiry-based learning and collaborative activities.
- Assess student progress, offer feedback, and provide tailored support.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and academic excellence.
- Work with colleagues to align teaching practices and share resources for enhanced student learning.
- Support extracurricular activities such as MUN, debate, or social studies clubs.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Studies, History, Political Science, Economics, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- At least one year of full-time teaching experience.
- Teaching license from Kurusapa (temporary or permanent) preferred.
- Native English speaker.
- Strong understanding of current social studies teaching methods and knowledge of global and Thai societal issues.
- Experience in teaching AP courses is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
