Job Description:

Are you an English or Spanish language teacher with a passion for education, people, and travel?

We are seeking volunteer English and Spanish language teachers for Peace Boat’s Global Voyage 125 departing on December 15, 2026 and returning to Yokohama, Japan on March 31, 2027. Join our ultimate around-the-world cruise to Antarctica! Wonders in the southern hemisphere always surpass expectations; the savannah fields in Africa, the rainforests and mountains in South America, the sparkling seas of the South Pacific, and last but not least, the South Pole!

Peace Boat is an international NGO building a culture of peace by connecting people across borders and creating opportunities for learning, activism and cooperation. Our teachers facilitate this by empowering our participants with the skills and confidence to use language to make these connections. While this is an unpaid position, Peace Boat covers the cost of visas, port fees, room and board.

📌 Please review the requirements to teach English in Japan before you start applying for teaching positions. If the job post specifies "NES" or "Native English Speaker", it typically means applicants are required to be from one of the following countries: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, or South Africa. However, in some cases, this may indicate a preference rather than a strict requirement.

⏳ Due to the high number of applications the schools receive they may not be able to respond to every application. If you don't hear back from them within a week or so, it's best to move on to the next job.

⚠️ When applying for jobs, you should NEVER have to pay to apply. You should also NEVER have to pay to buy anything which they then pay you back for later. NEVER PAY FOR ANYTHING! Also always verify you're actually talking to the company in the job post and not an imposter. Scams in TEFL are rampant, be careful!
