Las Nubes School, located in Jacó, Costa Rica, is seeking a passionate and committed English Teacher to join our international team for the 2026 school year.
Position Overview
Full-time English Teacher responsible for teaching 6th through 11th grade.
Contract: 1-year renewable contract
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Start Date: As soon as possible
Requirements
Native English speaker
Bachelor’s degree in Education
Minimum 2 years of teaching experience
Strong classroom management skills
Experience with innovative, student-centered teaching methodologies
Commitment to the well-rounded development of students
Ability to foster an inclusive and collaborative learning environment
Strong professional ethics and teamwork skills
Proactive attitude and willingness to participate in extracurricular activities
Personal qualities: passionate, organized, responsible, energetic, and inspiring
Responsibilities
Teach English classes aligned with the institution’s curriculum
Promote critical thinking, creativity, and strong communication skills
Design engaging pedagogical strategies that prepare students for real-world challenges
Implement formative and summative assessments to guide student progress
Maintain a motivating and structured classroom environment
Submit required documentation (lesson plans, assessments, reports, etc.) on time
Participate actively in planning meetings and professional development
Collaborate on interdisciplinary projects
Organize student activities and events that reinforce holistic development
Foster respect, inclusion, and responsibility inside and outside the classroom
Compensation
Monthly gross salary: ₡1,000,000 CRC (approx. $2,000 USD)
Housing subsidy: ₡200,000 CRC (approx. $350 USD)
