Ready to start an exciting teaching adventure abroad? The English Program in Korea (EPIK), sponsored by the Korean Ministry of Education, places native English speakers in public schools throughout South Korea. Korvia Consulting is now accepting applications for the Spring 2026 intake (starting February 2026).
🧑🏫 What You’ll Do
As a Guest English Teacher (GET) through EPIK, you will:
Work in a public elementary, middle, or high school alongside a Korean co-teacher
Focus on improving students’ speaking and communication skills
Plan and deliver engaging English lessons
Help organize extracurricular English activities (e.g., camps, clubs)
Support cultural exchange and serve as a language and cultural ambassador
Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, ~22 teaching hours/week
Regular hours: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
No weekends or night shifts
🎁 Benefits of EPIK
💰 Salary: ₩2.2M–₩2.7M/month
(Varies by qualifications & location. Rural positions often offer bonuses.)
🏠 Free Housing or Housing Allowance
✈️ Entry & Exit Allowance: ₩1.3M each (in lieu of flights)
🧑⚕️ Health Insurance: 50% covered by employer
🏖️ Paid Vacation: 18 working days + all national holidays
🎉 Severance Pay: One full month’s salary upon contract completion
🧑🏫 Orientation: 9-day paid orientation upon arrival

✅ Requirements
To be eligible for EPIK, applicants must:
Be a citizen of a native English-speaking country (USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa)
Hold a Bachelor’s degree (any major)
Have a clean national-level criminal background check
Hold a TEFL/TESOL certificate (100+ hrs) unless your degree is in Education
Be in good mental and physical health
Have interest in Korean culture and respect for Korean education values

If you are not from one of those countries, you can still teach English in most other countries. This requirement is specific to South Korea and school's can only issue visa's to teachers from those listed countries.
