Job Description:

Seongnam Foreign Language High School is looking for an experienced English teacher to teach speaking and writing classes to ambitious students.

1. Description:

-Teachers teach English production skills (speaking and writing). There is a wider than usual range of English ability (A2-C2) and performance tests are taken seriously.

- Students are bright, kind, and diligent, and the working environment is warm and friendly, too.

 

2. Duties and responsibilities: 1-year contract (2025.03.01.~2026.02.28.)

- Teaching a range of students using communicative methods

- Designing, implementing, and grading speaking and writing performance tests

- Proofreading midterm and final exam papers

- Preparing students for University entrance interviews

3. Conditions:

- Working hours are 8:30-16:30 Mon-Fri and foreign teachers teach 18-20 hours a week (although it is possible to teach up to 22).

- Pay ranges from 2.1-2.6 a month depending on experience and qualifications with 26 paid vacation days, 11 days of sick leave and end of year renewal bonus (1 month’s pay).

- Housing or a housing subsidy (500K) is offered.

- 1-year renewable contract (subject to performance)

4. Requirements:

- You need to have or meet the criteria of an E-2 visa.

- Have teaching experience and a TESOL qualification (ideally 120 hours in-class).

5. Preferences:

- Public school experience (ideally high school)

- Master’s degree in English/Education/TESOL or related field (open to humanities subject)

- Teaching license

- Preference will be given to those planning to reside in Korea long-term and able to work for an extended period, as well as those who do not require housing support.
