Science Teacher(Chemistry), Global Prodigy Academy
Jeonju University (JJU) South Korea
Global Prodigy Academy (GPA) in Jeonju is seeking qualified candidates for science teaching opportunities for the 2024-2025 academic year! GPA is an international school accredited by WASC and affiliates with Jeonju University.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement lesson plans and classroom activities
Science curriculum and instruction for middle & high school
This position could include Chemistry, AP Chemistry, Physics, Earth Science, etc.
Actively participate in professional development activities, and work closely with the principal, head teacher, counselor, and administrators
Other duties as assigned
WORKING CONDITION
1. Employment Term: From September 1, 2024 to August 31, 2025
- Teacher position is available for 2024-2025 Academic Year. The 2024 Fall semester starts in the middle of August and there is a Teacher in Service week beforehand.
2. Teaching Hours: Full-time job (Monday through Friday)
3. Qualifications
- Native English Speaker or Overseas Korean/ A fluent speaker of English whose nationality is one of the following: USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, or South Africa.
- A minimum of a master’s degree (bachelor’s preferred)
- Teacher certificate
- 2+ years working with students as a teacher preferred
- Knowledge of subject matter and subject-specific frameworks
4. SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS must submit
- Diploma with Apostille
- FBI criminal background check with Apostille (Within 6 months) in U.S. or issued by RCMP in Canada and it should be notarized by the Canadian Embassy/Consulate.

5. Salary
- Commensurate with education and experience
- 3.2M+(KRW)
- 25,000 won per hour for overtime teaching

1. 14 weeks of paid vacation throughout the employment term (Summer-7 weeks, Winter- 7 weeks)
2. Airfare reimbursement (1time, economy flight/ Up to 1.5million won)

4. According to Korean Labor Law, benefits include medical insurance and a national pension. Half of the Employee’s medical insurance premium and national pension will be provided and more.
