Gwacheon Foreign Language High School is seeking a Temporary English Teacher.
Position: Temporary Full-Time Native English Teacher
Location: Gwacheon City
Start Date: March 1, 2026
Contract Term: 1 year (March 1, 2026, to February 28, 2027), renewable upon evaluation and school committee approval.
Salary: 2,600,000 KRW per month. Housing is provided, which includes an apartment with three rooms and two bathrooms.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The total teaching hours required are 20 hours per week. Additional opportunities to earn income by teaching after-school classes are available.
Student Age Group: 17 to 19 years old.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct speaking-focused English classes as part of the regular curriculum.
- Evaluate students through quizzes, tests, and performance tasks.
- Engage in English-related school duties such as preparing materials, organizing events, and completing administrative tasks.
Qualifications:
- Citizenship in a country where English is the primary language (Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, United Kingdom, United States, or South Africa).
- Bachelor's degree in any field plus a TESOL/TEFL/CELTA certificate (minimum of 100 hours) OR Bachelor's degree in English teaching-related majors (e.g., Education, English Literature, English Language, Linguistics, TESOL, Second Language Studies).
- Valid Elementary, Middle, or Secondary School Teaching License/Certificate.
- Strong command of the English language.
- Ability and willingness to adapt to Korean culture and lifestyle.
- Good mental and physical health.
