Windfield International School Ko Samui is seeking a full-time Science Teacher for Years 7-9. This role involves teaching the Cambridge Lower Secondary Science Curriculum with a strong emphasis on STEM/STEAM integration. The successful candidate will be responsible for fostering curiosity, scientific thinking, and problem-solving skills in students by connecting science to real-world contexts through cross-disciplinary projects and inquiry-based learning.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver engaging lessons in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics for Years 7-9, based on Cambridge outcomes.
2. Use inquiry-based methods to promote curiosity and scientific reasoning.
3. Introduce the scientific method, lab skills, and safe experimentation.
4. Integrate themes such as sustainability and technology in society.
5. Design interdisciplinary STEM/STEAM projects and use tools like coding and digital media.
6. Encourage participation in science fairs and innovation challenges.
7. Assess student progress with Cambridge-aligned methods and provide constructive feedback.
8. Conduct safe practical sessions and instruct on lab safety and techniques.
9. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance STEAM opportunities and contribute to school events.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science or related field and a recognized teaching qualification.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching Lower Secondary Science.
- Familiarity with the Cambridge Lower Secondary Science Curriculum.
- Native or near-native English proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with STEM/STEAM integration and inquiry-based learning.
- Proficiency in digital learning tools and experience in international school settings.
