Job Description:

Wharton Junior Academy (“WJA”), opening in Gwacheon in July 2025, is hiring for enthusiastic Early Childhood Educators (Pre-K and Kindergarten-level) whose greatest passion is to see kids learn and grow as future leaders with creative and critical thinking skills. We are looking for a passionate and experienced early childhood educator who will become a member of the WJA community as a Full-time Senior Kindergarten Teacher starting from July 2025. This position includes a 1 week training period.

Duties and responsibilities:

- Participate in designing teaching plans for Pre-K and Kindergarten-level children based on the U.S. Common Core Standards and the South Korean Nuri Curriculum
- Teach Pre-K or Kindergarten-level children following the teaching plans and curriculum of WJA (e.g., Teach alphabet, numbers, personal/social and emotional skills, etc.)
- Use songs, stories and games to motivate children to participate
- Teach Pre-K or Kindergarten-level children for various afterschool/extra-curricular activities
- Use and incorporate online and offline learning material and resources in teaching
- Regularly communicate with parents
- Manage teachers and assistant teachers and assess their performances
- Evaluate children’s performance and progress
- Adhere to teaching standards and safety regulations

Qualifications and requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Childhood education (or related fields)
- Native (or advanced) fluencies in English and Korean
- Ability to teach in English
- Previous experience as Kindergarten Teacher of similar role
- Very good knowledge of child development
- Must enjoy working with children
- Creative and artistic teaching abilities
- Attention to detail
- Great amount of patience and flexibility
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
- Eligible to work or obtain work permit in Korea without restrictions

Preferred qualifications

- Master’s degree in education or similar relevant field
- Additional teaching and/or educational license/certificate
- Bachelor’s or higher degree from an English-speaking country (preferably the U.S., Canada, or UK)

Starting Salary – WJA offers a competitive salary contingent on applicants’ qualifications and experience

- 3.5+ mil/month
