Drama at DHSZ consists of a compulsory curriculum for all students and also a vibrant co-curricular community.  We are looking for a skilled, passionate, and collaborative educator who understands the role of drama as a valuable creative discipline and with an essential role in developing skills that support students at university and in life.   We particularly value fostering communication, confidence, creativity, and collaboration.  The postholder needs to be confident delivering lessons in English whilst drawing from student’s own personal experience and cultural identity.
As Head of Drama, the postholder should be enthusiastic about going above and beyond for students, particularly when it comes to co-curricular involvement.  They are responsible for shaping every aspect of productions, promoting student leadership and agency.  Based on the interests and skills of both the postholder and students, these will include a Chinese drama production, a play, or musical theatre.  Our facilities include a Black Box and access to three theatre spaces; our gym converts into a performance space for whole-school events.

Please mention that you found the job on Teast for the school's reference.

You need to be from one of the following counties to teach English in China: USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa. However, schools in China can still hire teachers from other countries as subject teachers or teaching assistants and managers.

Due to the high number of applications the schools receive they may not be able to respond to every application. If you don't hear back from them within a week or so, it's best to move on to the next job.

When applying for jobs, you should NEVER have to pay to apply. You should also NEVER have to pay to buy anything which they then pay you back for later. NEVER PAY FOR ANYTHING! Also always verify you're actually talking to the company in the job post and not an imposter. Scams in TEFL are rampant, be careful!
