Emphasis English Academy was founded by Ronan O’Carroll in 2004 to help improve the mastery of English. Having worked here and experienced first-hand the unique issues that face Malaysian learners of English, as well as having trained overseas and recognising the importance of English as a global language, Ronan saw an opportunity to go beyond the mundane and standardised teaching methods that many Malaysian tuition centers, language schools, and other institutions of learning provide. At Emphasis, our main focus has always been to help develop our students into strong and confident communicators.

Emphasis has helped thousands of students learn English. We achieve this through our own method, the Emphasis Method, which uses scientific research on language learning as well as proven language teaching methods. We make the process of learning English efficient, enjoyable, and effective. The Emphasis Method enables students to excel at their own pace to the best of their abilities. Emphasis employs passionate, native-speaking teachers who love working with kids. In addition to their passion, they all have broad international exposure and bring to the table multi-industry experience.
