EFL Teacher for International School

💼 Raffles American School Bangkok (RAS)
📍Bangkok, Thailand
💰 55,000
Job Description:

Raffles American School is a member of the Raffles Education Group, Ltd., a global leader in education, from preschool to graduate education. Raffles has been building schools around the world for 30 years, so you can be assured that we maintain standards of quality. Raffles American School is a Candidate for Accreditation, approved by the Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges. In the coming years, we will open up to Grade 12 and offer AP courses approved by the College Board. We are also planning to add an IB diploma program. We still have many acres of land to expand our facilities.

We have a diverse population of students from all over the world with different learning needs. Most of the students are from affluent families, but our reasonable tuition prices allow for the emerging middle class to attend an international school. Some students will be coming from the local school system, while others will be coming from a school with Western education standards.

Less than 10% of our students require special EFL support classes. These students will be pulled out of other classes to work with the EFL Teacher. Raffles American School uses WIDA testing to measure English growth and believes that communicative EFL strategies should focus on productive language use across the curriculum.

To accommodate our growing student population after reopening on-campus learning, we are currently recruiting a new EFL Teacher. Applicants should have experience working in a formal school and a TESOL/TEFL/CELTA. A master's related to Teaching English to Non-Native Speakers is preferred. Candidates without these credentials are generally not shortlisted unless they have experience teaching in an accredited, formal school. Note that the salary posted is based on the expected starting salary of a qualified EFL Teacher with 10 years of experience.

Positions commence ASAP, or no later than 7 February 2022. Working hours are from 7:30am to 3:30pm. Teachers should have approximately 18 contact hours per week. Class sizes usually have 10 to 18 students. There are approximately 179 school days each year, yet teachers are paid in full every month, including summers.

Only candidates already in Thailand can be considered at this time due to the current entry restriction complications. Visa and work-permit expenses will be reimbursed by RAS. Medical, accident, disability, and life insurance are also provided. RAS has a helpful and welcoming team of professionals to support our teachers.

To apply, please send your resume to recruitment@ras.ac.th. Only short-listed candidates will be contacted. For more information about our school, please visit ras.ac.th
