The Art and Design Department
Art and Design plays an integral role in the lives of the RBIS secondary students, and is a department that is growing in Popularity in KS4 and KS5. RBIS has a strong focus on the Arts in its community activities, and the successful candidate will play a key role in developing the direction of the department and the secondary school.

Job Title: Teacher of Art and Design
Department: Art and Design
Function: Academic
Reports to: Secondary School Coordinator
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum
- Produce schemes of work that inspire a love of the subject, and develops students skills and knowledge towards external examinations.
- To ensure that all students make progress, and high expectations in personal achievement are maintained.
- Review and develop the curriculum in line with School policy, mission and vision.
- Develop teaching approaches
- To take responsibility for the learning environment, including both classroom and school displays of work.
Administration
- Ensure that pupil work is regularly marked and appropriate feedback is consistent and responded to.
- Produce assessment material and departmental records
- Prepare student coursework submission and examination entries.
- Organise departmental trips, events and school visits.
Teaching
- Ensure that lessons are well planned, structured and delivered to inspire a love of learning.
- Plan and teach lessons that enable access to all learning needs and differentiate appropriately.
- Ensure marking, assessment and feedback is timely, appropriate and meaningful.
- Reflect on teaching practice to adapt to student needs, including barriers to learning related to SEN and EAL pupil experience.
- Record and report on pupil progress and attainment, based upon accurate and regular assessment.
- Be able to demonstrate outstanding subject and curriculum knowledge.
- To establish excellent working relationships with students that engage with pupils as individuals.
- Set high expectations of behavior and attainment.
- Demonstrate outstanding subject and curriculum knowledge
- Establish excellent relationships and communication with parents.
- Effectively communicate and develop relationships with external companies or bodies.
- Participate staff, departmental and pastoral meetings

Essential Knowledge / Qualifications
- Teaching degree/qualification and QTS
- Working knowledge of the UK curriculum from teaching in a UK government, private or international school.
- Experience teaching GCSE and A LEVEL or BTEC
Desirable
- Experience teaching both A level and BTEC
- Knowledge of international schooling.
- Experience in school and departmental development.
- Experience working with children who have English as a second language
Remuneration Package
Successful candidates will be given an initial two-year contract following the completion of an initial probationary period. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package in the context of the Bangkok International school market and the number of students enrolled in the school.
