Job Description:

Atlantic Five-Star English is looking for full-time teachers for our in-school Cambridge International teaching programme being launched in Hai Phong, Vietnam. On this programme, students study the Cambridge International Pathway for Primary, Secondary 1 (Lower Secondary / Checkpoint) and Secondary 2 (Upper Secondary / IGCSE) as well as High School (AS/A-levels).

We are actively recruiting for:
* Primary level education teachers able to teach multiple subject (Mathematics, Science, ESL)
* Lower Secondary Level Science Teachers
* Cambridge ESL Secondary teachers
* Cambridge ESL High School teachers
* AS/A-level Chemistry teachers

This is an exciting opportunity to work with bright, motivated state school students on a government pilot programme preparing students for their Cambridge exams. These positions will start in August 2024 and will continue until the end of the school year in May 2025.

We offer dedicated academic management support, including teacher mentorship and developmental observations.

Teachers duties & responsibilities include:

(a) Teachings
Planning and delivering lessons according to a fixed schedule of between 18-21 teaching hours per week, in total, at 2-3 different schools.
Planning and delivering lessons in line with the Cambridge International curriculum and the requirements of stakeholders.
Submitting weekly lesson plans and materials as required by academic management by uploading to a shared company drive, on a weekly basis, for use by other teachers and review by management.
Following the set curriculum and pacing guides to ensure students achieve learning objectives and complete assessments on schedule.
Managing students' behaviour in an acceptable manner.
Planning and delivering tutoring sessions for struggling students as needed. Teachers are expected to be available for at least one (1) tutoring session of 45 minutes per school per week. This is not counted in the regular teaching hours but will be fixed in the teacher's schedule/timetable upon mutual agreement of available slots.
Making classroom available on a reasonable basis for observation by stakeholders, for quality control purposes, and by other teachers for professional development purposes.
Completing all associated admin in a timely, thorough and accurate fashion - This includes, but is not limited to:
daily record of work (attendance, content of teaching, daily feedback on select students) by the set daily deadlines.
o individual student comments (for quarterly reports - 4 times during the academic year)
o midterm and final test scores by a set deadline.
o assignment marking (as needed)
o assessment design and marking (4 times during the academic year)
o any other required other admin tasks.
Delivering makeup lessons (up to 6 additional teaching hours per week). Due to school needs, makeup lessons may sometimes fall on Saturdays.
Being available to cover classes during scheduled cover slots. Cover slots will be assigned based on the regular teaching hours per week. The number of regular teaching hours, plus cover hours and any make up lessons, will not exceed 27 hours per week.


(b) Administrative duties
The following duties are considered part of the teachers normal duties and do not attract additional compensation:
Attending bi-weekly team meetings, scheduled training workshops, school meetings, and other meetings as required.
Communicating regularly with academic team, scheduler, HR, operations team, and colleagues as required.
Participating in parent meetings (expected at the beginning of the school year, the end of Semester 1, and the end of Semester 2). Parent meetings may take place after the final day of teaching. If teaching finishes in late May, parent meetings may take place in June.
Attending opening ceremonies and closing ceremonies at each school.
Attending subject-specific events and competitions at each school (eg, Science Fair, Maths Open Competition, English Festival etc.) These may take place on weekends and teachers will be informed at least 3 days in advance.
Checking and responding to emails in a timely manner.
Keeping Atlantic's equipment and rooms in a useable state.

Qualifications
Minimum requirements:

Bachelors/masters/PGCE/iPGCE/QTS relevant to the subject taught for Secondary and A-levels
Bachelors/masters/PGCE/iPGCE/QTS for Primary level teaching and the ability to teach Mathematics, Science and ESL.
A reputable English-language teaching certificate such as CELTA or equivalent*
Previous teaching experience with the subject and/or with Primary, Secondary or High School students
Cultural awareness and flexibility to work in a state-school environment in Vietnam
A clean criminal record in home country and in Vietnam

*This requirement may be waived for candidates with a (i)PGCE and/or QTS (qualified teacher status) from their home country.
