Job Description:

Victoria University English (VUE) are recruiting educators for in-person teaching at our partner universities in P.R. China. We are accepting applications from qualified language instructors for classroom-based teaching in Shenyang at Liaoning University, in Zhengzhou at Henan University and in ShaHe at the Centra University of Finance and Economics.

The contract is for one-year (renewable). In 2024, the start dates are:

02 September for second year students and 08 October for first year students (EAP level 3)

In 2025, the teaching semester will resume after Lunar New Year (around the end of February)

The package includes a competitive salary, an accommodation allowance, international flight, and assistance with the work visa process. Once in China, teachers receive ongoing support from VU English and the local university staff to make the transition as smooth as possible.

About VUE (www.vu.edu.au): We are part of Victoria University (Melbourne, Australia) and we recruit and manage language educators for partner universities in mainland China. The students are in their first and second year of university and they undertake an ELICOS English for Academic Purposes (EAP) preparatory program prior to entry into specialisation courses.

Salary:

4500 - 5500 CNY per week of teaching

Qualifications:

Minimum of an undergraduate degree (completed in English) and a CELTA (or strong equivalent)
2 years teaching experience
Strong organisational skills, cultural awareness and flexibility, and ability to problem solve
