ABOUT THE JOB
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Teaching English and/or other subjects taught in English (e.g. science, mathematics), including lessons within the teacher’s primary subject, project-based lessons, extracurricular clubs and activities, marketing classes, etc. reflecting teacher’s educational background and experience following an assigned teaching schedule. Maximum teaching hours per week: 22 hours. 1 teaching hour = 60 minutes;
• Preparing lesson plans and teaching materials before lessons;
• Covering classes for absent teachers according to assignment from line managers;
• Teaching/coaching/instructing students at club time within working hours. Club assignments are scheduled based on employee’s educational background, strengths, and abilities;
• Carrying out other duties related to teaching, such as assigning/collecting/marking homework, writing student assessments/reports, creating/proctoring/marking exams, etc.;
• Participating in school extra-curricular activities, parents’ meetings, professional development training, etc. according to school plan and calendar;
• Other miscellaneous duties related to teacher’s expertise as assigned by Head of Department or Director of Studies.
Requirements & Qualifications:
• Native English speaker
• Minimum 2-3 years of teaching experience in private/bilingual/international schools
• Passion for teaching & childcare
• Commitment to child safety
• Experience with standard office programs/apps, experience with common teaching web tools
• For primary teachers: need to be comfortable teaching basic science concepts
• All documents necessary for Work Permit application:
o Bachelor’s degree (degree in education/English teaching/pedagogy a plus)
o English teaching certification: for primary teachers, CELTA, CELTYL, TESOL, or TYLEC preferred
o Clear criminal background check
o Health check
o Others as needed
Salary:
• Minimum starting rate: 50 million VND per month net (pay rate commensurate with qualifications and experience)
