International Primary School Homeroom Teacher Position in Fuzhou
Horizon Recruitment is seeking a full-time International Primary School Homeroom Teacher to join a modern international school in Fuzhou, Fujian Province, China. This role involves guiding students' academic and social development in an English-medium environment, offering a strong salary package, housing allowance, insurance, and Z visa support.
Fuzhou, a coastal city in southeast China, is known for its subtropical climate, beaches, hot springs, and rich cultural heritage. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality instruction to primary grades, following the school curriculum framework.
- Integrate interdisciplinary content across subjects like Science, Math, Art, and Social Studies using an inquiry-based approach.
- Collaborate with curriculum coordinators, specialist teachers, and support staff to design units, lesson plans, and learning resources.
- Prepare teaching materials aligned with curriculum goals and assessment standards.
- Use assessments to track student progress, adjusting strategies for diverse learners.
- Provide feedback to support students' academic growth, language development, and independence.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive classroom environment promoting respect and student well-being.
- Foster students’ social and emotional development, encouraging collaboration and global awareness.
- Communicate with parents through conferences, reports, and updates.
- Participate in seminars, professional development, excursions, assemblies, and school events.
- Contribute to planning meetings and school improvement initiatives.
- Take on additional duties such as supervision, clubs, and school activities.
- Adhere to child protection regulations, school policies, and professional standards.
Working Hours:
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (some specialist roles from 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM).
- Approximately 20-25 teaching hours per week, with additional planning, grading, and meetings.
- Flexibility for occasional weekend events and summer preparation work.
Visa & Work Permit Information:
- Support for obtaining a legal work visa (Z visa) and work permit for China.
- Applicants need a passport from an approved country, a bachelor’s degree, at least 2 years of relevant experience, and a clean criminal record.
- Reimbursement of basic Z visa application fees, subject to school policy.
- Candidates must provide authenticated academic documents, background checks, and medical reports as required.
Requirements:
- Nationality: American, Canadian, British, Australian, or New Zealander (for work visa purposes).
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of classroom teaching experience.
- Strong classroom management skills and ability to engage primary-age learners.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Passion for education and supporting young learners' development.
- Cultural sensitivity and willingness to live and work in China.
- No criminal record and ability to provide background checks.
- Ability to provide professional references.
Salary & Benefits:
- Monthly salary: RMB 21,000 in the first year, RMB 22,000 in the second year.
- Monthly housing allowance: RMB 2,500.
