Anglo Singapore International School in Bangkok is seeking a dedicated and skilled Primary English Teacher to join our team. This full-time position requires teaching Cambridge Primary First Language English to students in our primary school. The successful candidate will deliver structured English lessons, focusing on literacy, communication, and critical thinking skills. Additionally, the role involves homeroom responsibilities, emphasizing pastoral care and student wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instruct Cambridge Primary First Language English in alignment with the Cambridge curriculum.
- Develop and deliver comprehensive English lessons focusing on reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
- Support students for whom English is a second language, maintaining high academic standards.
- Enhance students' skills in phonics, reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, and writing.
- Utilize formative and summative assessments to track progress and tailor support.
- Provide constructive feedback to foster continuous improvement in English language skills.
- Serve as a homeroom teacher, focusing on pastoral care and student wellbeing.
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Regularly communicate with parents about students' progress and development.
- Collaborate with colleagues for curriculum consistency and participate in school events and professional development.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, Primary Education, or related field (Master’s Degree preferred).
- Recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, B.Ed.).
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience teaching Primary English.
- Familiarity with the Cambridge Primary English curriculum.
- Proven experience teaching First Language English to ESL students.
- Strong understanding of primary literacy development and language scaffolding strategies.
- Experience in international or multilingual school settings is desirable.
- Excellent proficiency in English, classroom management, and communication skills.
