NIVA American International School in Bangkok is seeking qualified and experienced educators to fill immediate teaching positions due to increased enrollment. We are looking for Secondary ELA, Social Studies, Mathematics, and Science teachers, with a preference for those who can teach multiple subjects. The positions are available for both middle and high school levels and follow an American curriculum aligned with Common Core standards. Job Requirements: - Language proficiency in American English is essential, demonstrated through an interview. Candidates must be able to communicate effectively in an academic English environment and be committed to teaching pronunciation to students. - A minimum of two years of full-time teaching experience is required, preferably within an American curriculum or U.S.-accredited schools. - A strong understanding of Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and skills in MAP/NWEA data analysis to implement instructional interventions for student improvement are essential. - A degree in an educational field is required. A valid teaching license is preferred, though candidates with non-education degrees can be considered if they commit to obtaining a Thai or International teaching qualification and a Thai Teaching License. Compensation and Benefits: - Salary starts at 60,000 THB per month, commensurate with credentials and experience. - 8-10 weeks of paid holidays per year. - Medical insurance and retirement benefits through a Provident Fund. Professional Expectations: - Approximately 24 teaching periods per week, with each period lasting 45 minutes. - Responsibilities include homeroom supervision and classroom management. - Attendance at meetings and school functions is mandatory. Job Title: Social Studies Teacher (ISP Program) Location: Learn Satit Pattana School, Bangkok Position Type: Full-Time, Fixed Term We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Social Studies Teacher to join our secondary school academic team. The successful candidate will teach Grade 9-10 students, focusing on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Model United Nations (MUN), and World History, with opportunities to teach Advanced Placement (AP) courses. This role is perfect for an educator passionate about helping students understand the historical and social context of contemporary issues both locally and globally. Key Responsibilities: - Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and rigorous Social Studies lessons including World History, SDGs, and MUN-related topics. - Develop and implement a curriculum aligned with both Thai and US standards, ensuring differentiation for diverse learning needs. - Foster students’ understanding of historical events, social structures, and their relevance to contemporary issues. - Explore a broad range of social studies topics such as civics, economics, geography, and world history, integrating these areas to enrich students’ understanding of global and national issues. - Teach Advanced Placement (AP) courses, including AP Psychology and AP Macroeconomics, and prepare students for college-level academic challenges. - Cultivate critical thinking, analytical skills, and discussion abilities through inquiry-based learning and collaborative student activities. - Regularly assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and tailor support to meet individual learning needs. - Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment promoting student participation, engagement, and academic excellence. - Collaborate with colleagues to align instructional practices, share best practices, and develop resources that enhance student learning. - Support extracurricular activities such as MUN, debate, or social studies clubs. Qualifications and Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in Social Studies, History, Political Science, Economics, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). - Minimum of one year of full-time teaching experience. - Teaching license from Kurusapa (temporary or permanent) preferred. - Native English speaker. - Strong understanding of current social studies pedagogies, global issues, local practices, and Thai society, culture, and social dynamics. - Experience teaching Advanced Placement (AP) courses is highly desirable. - Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
