Learn Satit Pattana School (LSP) in Bangkok is currently seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Social Studies Teacher for our ISP Program. This full-time, fixed-term position involves teaching students in Grades 9-10, focusing on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Model United Nations (MUN), and World History, with opportunities to teach Advanced Placement (AP) courses. This role is ideal for educators dedicated to helping students understand the historical and social contexts of contemporary global and local issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging lessons in Social Studies, covering topics such as World History, SDGs, and MUN.
- Implement a curriculum that aligns with both Thai and US standards, tailored for diverse learning needs.
- Enhance students' understanding of historical events and social structures relevant to today's issues.
- Cover a wide range of social studies topics, including civics, economics, geography, and world history.
- Teach AP courses, including AP Psychology and AP Macroeconomics, preparing students for college-level challenges.
- Promote critical thinking and analytical skills through inquiry-based learning and collaborative activities.
- Assess student progress, provide feedback, and offer tailored support.
- Create an inclusive classroom environment that encourages engagement and academic excellence.
- Collaborate with fellow educators to share best practices and develop resources.
- Support extracurricular activities such as MUN, debate, or social studies clubs.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Studies, History, Political Science, Economics, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- At least one year of full-time teaching experience.
- Teaching license from Kurusapa (temporary or permanent) is preferred.
- Native English speaker.
- Strong grasp of current social studies pedagogies, global issues, and Thai society and culture.
- Experience with AP courses is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
