British Council Taiwan - Hourly Paid Teacher Position
We are in search of committed teachers currently residing in Taiwan to offer students an engaging English language learning experience. This role is crucial in promoting quality teaching and learning English effectively, aligning with the broader goals of the British Council and its cultural relations mission.
Main Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality language lessons tailored to diverse learner requirements.
- Uphold British Council standards while monitoring progress and providing constructive feedback.
- Support center activities by contributing to course enhancement and participating in marketing efforts.
- Foster learner autonomy and engage in professional development to ensure excellence.
- Develop strong relationships with customers and colleagues to promote UK cultural relations and intercultural interactions.
- Ensure compliance with policies on safeguarding, data protection, equality, diversity, inclusion, health, and safety.
Qualifications and Experience:
Essentials:
- Cambridge CELTA/ Trinity Certificate TESOL
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline
- Proficiency in English (CEFR C2 level)
- 2 years post-certificate teaching experience
- Experience in teaching various age groups
Desirables:
- Further teaching qualifications such as Cambridge DELTA or Trinity Diploma
- PGCE/B.Ed. in Primary or Secondary education
- Certification in English Language Teaching to Young Learners extension or equivalent
Important Information:
- Salary: NT$950 per hour
- Contract: Indefinite
- Work Schedule: Primarily on Saturdays and/or Sundays for morning and evening classes
- Location: Taipei and Linkou branch
Performance Enablement:
- Engage in professional development sessions using the British Council’s Continuing Professional Development frameworks
- Receive feedback on classes from experienced teacher trainers
- Access a wide range of ESL materials from the British Council library
