JOB TITLE: Deputy Director of IT and Head of Business Applications
REPORTS TO: Director of IT & Media

NATURE AND SCOPE OF JOB:
The primary responsibility of the Deputy IT Director is to work as part of the leadership team focused on the mission and goals of the School and to assist the IT Director in IT governance, implementing and managing IT infrastructure and network, cybersecurity, implementing Edtech applications and running IT support operations.
The Deputy IT Director will be tactful and act as the IT business partner, working with relevant stakeholders to implement Edtech transformation. You are expected to have good process knowledge and experience in guiding the stakeholders to streamline and improve the school processes.

JOB DESCRIPTION AND EXPECTATIONS:
Must report to the IT and Media Director and manage each I.T. department.
The Deputy IT Director/Business Applications Specialist (BAS) must ensure that information systems are kept current and align with the School and the group's strategic direction and business objectives.
The BAS will maximize value and productivity from new and developing business tools and systems.
The BASt will support all AEG staff in their daily use of the business applications along with general support functions.
BAS Will work with stakeholders to develop and gain benefits from software and business systems.
Helps in articulating business/operational business needs, developing specifications, aligning projects, reviewing vendor offers, and ensuring that software development meets AEGs needs and is on time, on budget, and implemented to the School and group’s full benefit.

JOB FUNCTIONS AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
IT Operations (20%):
Manage IT support helpdesk and operations.
Manage the schools’ IT requirements and resources.
IT vendor management.
IT budget and actual tracking.
Prepare periodic IT reports for management.
Policies, infrastructure and cybersecurity (40%):
Develop and implement IT and cybersecurity standards.
Develop DRP (disaster recovery plan) and BCP (business continuity plan).
Activate DRP and BCP in the event of a disaster.
Identify and define technical requirements for the schools.
Design, implement and manage group IT architecture and cybersecurity.
Evaluate and implement suitable network solutions for the schools.
Evaluate and standardize IT hardware and system software.
Implement and manage cloud systems and services.
Manage IT assets and services.
Edtech (40%):
IT leader for Edtech transformation projects. Manage and deliver projects successfully.
Leads and manages the business applications team.
Develop and implement the business applications standards.
Works with the stakeholders to identify new business requirements and translate into transformation projects.
Evaluate business application solutions and build business cases to support transformation needs.
Lead mapping of business requirements to business applications. Responsible for guiding/influencing users to design processes befitting the business needs. Lead business analysts to drive process standardization and adoption of best practices.
Lead the development of system enhancements.
Lead integration of new technology with business applications.
Roll out new business applications to all schools in AEG.
Drive change management activities.
Continuously improve the way of working and business applications design through process automation. Introduce modern trends and best practices in the organization.
Maintain business process documentation, reporting standards, and user authorization matrix.
Regular review of SOD and user authorization to ensure compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess a Bachelor’s degree, preferably a Master’s degree, in Information Technology, Computer Science, or any related field.
A minimum of 5 years experience in a related field (technology management and operations, business applications, infrastructure and cybersecurity).
The candidate must have experience in the implementation and operation of Business Applications.
Experience in the management of an I.T. Department.
Must possess the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all relevant stakeholders.
Native speaker levels of English or if NNES, a minimum of TOEIC Level of 660 is required.
