Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Music, Music Education, or a related field
- Preferred teaching certification or license
- Experience in teaching music at the elementary level
- Understanding of child development and age-appropriate teaching strategies
- Ability to teach basic music theory, vocal music, rhythm, movement, and introductory instrumental skills
- Strong skills in classroom management, organization, communication, and collaboration
- Experience in an international school setting is advantageous
Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging music lessons for elementary students, aligned with the school curriculum
- Teach foundational music skills such as rhythm, pitch, singing, movement, and basic music theory
- Prepare students for performances, assemblies, and special events
- Evaluate and document student progress, providing constructive feedback
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and school leadership for interdisciplinary learning
- Maintain lesson plans, assessments, and necessary documentation
- Communicate with parents about student progress as needed
- Participate in school events, professional development, and staff meetings
