Full-Time ESL/EFL Teacher Opportunity – Zhanjiang
The British Education Training Center is seeking a dedicated full-time ESL/EFL teacher to join our vibrant team in Zhanjiang, China. This coastal city in South China is known for its warm climate, delicious seafood, and relaxed lifestyle. Our school offers small class sizes, professional support, and a friendly international work environment.
Position Overview:
As a teacher with us, you'll instruct young learners in communicative English, using our comprehensive curriculum. You'll work alongside local co-teachers to ensure effective classroom management and student understanding. Our school values quality teaching and fosters close relationships with students and parents within a supportive team culture.
Location and Benefits:
Zhanjiang, located in Guangdong Province, provides a lower cost of living compared to larger cities like Guangzhou, yet still offers modern amenities, beautiful beaches, and convenient travel options within China. Our small class sizes of 6–12 students allow for meaningful student interaction and progress. We offer continuous training and support from both foreign and Chinese academic staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach up to 21 contact hours weekly, totaling 40 working hours per week
- Deliver engaging lessons using our pre-developed curriculum
- Collaborate with local teachers to support student learning
- Assess and provide feedback on student progress
- Participate in extra-curricular activities and professional development sessions
Work Schedule:
- Full-time position based in Zhanjiang
- Two fixed days off per week
- Approximately 23 paid holidays annually
Visa and Work Permit:
We sponsor a legal Z (work) visa and residence permit for foreign teachers. Typical requirements include a valid passport, a bachelor's degree, at least 2 years of relevant work experience, a non-criminal background check, a health certificate, and a recognized TEFL/TESOL qualification.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (required)
- Minimum of 2 years work experience; teaching experience in China preferred
- TESOL/TEFL certification or related qualifications are advantageous
- Willingness to sign a 2-year contract
- Professional demeanor and cultural sensitivity
Salary and Benefits:
- Monthly salary: 12,000–16,000 CNY, based on qualifications and experience
