Job Description:
Are you a friendly person who is passionate about teaching? Join us at our school in Keelung, Taiwan!
We are looking to hire native English speakers to plan and teach lessons to young learners. Around lesson planning and teaching, you will also grade homework and assessments, communicate progress to parents, and help with holiday and cultural events for students. Prior teaching experience is helpful, but not required. We will provide training and immigration support so that you can teach with confidence.
You will work alongside experienced Taiwanese staff and teachers from all around the world. The school is small, so the team is close-knit and supportive of each other. It is common for our teachers to get together outside of work to explore the city’s restaurant scene. Taiwanese staff are patient, kind, and helpful with integrating into life in Taiwan.
Our school is located in the port city of Keelung, on the northern tip of Taiwan, in an area called Dawulun. Dawulun is a quiet area tucked into the mountains with an affordable cost of living. Hop on a scooter, and you are only five minutes away from Dawulun Beach, 10 minutes to Lovers Lake and mountain hiking trails, and 20 minutes to downtown Keelung’s coffee shops and vintage stores, as well as Miaokou Night Market, one of Taiwan’s most famous and a haven for seafood lovers. From downtown, the capital Taipei is a mere bus or train trip away. Keelung is also the perfect gateway for day trips to scenic mountain villages and natural wonders along Taiwan’s east coast.
To qualify, it is necessary to:
Hold a passport from an English-speaking country (Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, the United Kingdom, the United States, etc.)
Hold a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution (all majors welcome)
Pass a national-level criminal background check
Commit to at least one year of full-time work
We offer:
Teaching pay, ranging from 650 to 700 NTD per teaching hour to start
Annual raises and bonuses
Guaranteed teaching hours (a minimum of 20 per week)
