Job Description:

The English Linguistics & Language Technology (ELLT) department at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (Seoul Campus) invites applications for a full-time language proficiency-focused foreign faculty position starting from the Fall 2024 semester.

Application Period: April 11 ~ April 25, 2024

Position: Full-time Foreign Professor, English Linguistics & Language Technology (ELLT) Department.

Contract Period: September 1st, 2024 ~ August 31st, 2025 (with the possibility of extension every year)

Starting Position and Salary
-    Non-tenure track Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, depending on qualifications and professional experience
-    A base salary of 3,498,600 ~ 5,236,000 KRW per month, depending on position and professional experience

Qualifications
-    Master’s Degree or higher with a minimum of two years’ university-level teaching experience or a Ph.D. (preferably in a field related to English Linguistics, Interpretation, or Education)
-    Must be a native English speaker
-    Must be able to publish academic papers

Responsibilities
-    Teaching English proficiency courses focused on writing, communication, and media English, in addition to English Linguistics classes (for those who match qualifications)
-    Twelve minimum teaching hours a week (at least four days a week)
-    Must be able to publish at least one academic paper per year or present in academic conferences for the possibility of contract renewal and promotion
