Job Description:

Theodore International School (TIS) in Chumphon, Thailand, is seeking a dedicated and flexible Grade 5 Homeroom Teacher. This full-time position involves teaching English Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, and Technology to Grade 5 students. The position begins in November 2026 and lasts until June 4th, 2027, with the potential for permanent status.

The salary ranges from 39,000 to 44,000 baht per month, which includes housing and food stipends. Additional income opportunities are available, such as tutoring TIS students at a rate of 500 baht per hour, potentially earning an additional 3,000 to 5,000 baht per month. Summer school tutoring is also available in June.

Benefits include low-cost on-campus housing at 3,000 baht, free lunch on working days, and health insurance for those with multi-year contracts. Theodore International School offers over 30 paid holidays between August and June, with extended breaks during Christmas/New Year and Thai Songkran in April, ensuring a balanced work-life experience.

Applicants should have a Bachelor's Degree and previous teaching experience. While not essential, a TEFL or similar diploma and experience with education technology are advantageous. Native English speakers or non-native speakers with excellent English skills are encouraged to apply.

The teaching hours will not exceed 20 hours weekly, with additional duties capped at 5 hours per week. The school is located just 10 minutes from downtown Chumphon, offering a modern and high-tech learning environment. Teachers will benefit from classrooms equipped with smartboards, high-speed Wi-Fi, and individual student devices.

Chumphon provides a pollution-free lifestyle with affordable living costs and access to beautiful beaches and islands. TIS supports its teachers with free lunches, on-campus housing, and assistance with local rentals and transport. The school also has a relaxed dress code, providing school polos and allowing casual attire on Fridays.

Applicants must provide a Bachelor's Degree, degree transcripts, and a background check.

📌 Please review the requirements to teach English in Thailand before you start applying for teaching positions. If the job post specifies "NES" or "Native English Speaker", it typically means applicants are required to be from one of the following countries: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, or South Africa. However, in some cases, this may indicate a preference rather than a strict requirement.

⏳ Due to the high number of applications the schools receive they may not be able to respond to every application. If you don't hear back from them within a week or so, it's best to move on to the next job.

⚠️ Watch out for agencies that charge fees or take a cut of your salary. Good agencies get paid by the schools - not by taking money from you. If you’re not sure how they make money, just ask. If they say they take a percentage, that’s a red flag - avoid them and let us know so we can ban them from the site. Unlike other job boards that allow these kinds of agencies to advertise at your expense, we don’t - we’ve already banned several to stop teachers from being underpaid or exploited.

⚠️ When applying for jobs, you should NEVER have to pay to apply. You should also NEVER have to pay to buy anything which they then pay you back for later. NEVER PAY FOR ANYTHING! Also always verify you're actually talking to the company in the job post and not an imposter. Scams in TEFL are rampant, be careful!
