We are looking for experienced seasonal teachers for Point Avenue’s Summer Leaders’ Boarding Camp. Summer Leaders' Camp (SLC) is a life-changing opportunity that inspires personal growth and leadership development. Our team will mentor campers as they participate in impactful leadership activities such as academic courses, life-coaching, fitness, community service, daily healthy habits, nature, exploration, sports, arts, peer leadership, and more! The relationships, experiences, and mentorship provided at SLC transform campers, preparing them to lead their communities and the world towards a better tomorrow.

Working Times & Dates:
From 1 June 2022 to 12 June 2022: pre-camp training
From 13 June 2022 to 24 July 2022: boarding camp
From 25 July 2022 to 27 July 2022: post-camp follow up

Responsibilities & Duties
1, Academic Mentorship:
Plan, prepare and deliver Leaders’ Camp’s incredible academic programs - Life Coaching & Global Citizens - in an engaging manner: curriculum, training, and lesson plans are provided by Point Avenue.
Ensure class materials and activities are planned before the start of class: materials provided
Guide campers’ leadership and character development through research and objective fact-based teaching, facilitating subject matter expertise, and critical thinking: ensure that course objectives are taught and learned.
Maintain camper accountability and safety (i.e., attendance & behavior management) to provide a productive learning environment
2, Activities Mentorship:
Bring a positive, proactive, willing attitude into all camp activities: mentor by example!
Review and be prepared to lead campers through planned activities: physical fitness, farming, team activities, hiking, etc.
Mentor campers by facilitating activities, providing clear instructions, and providing leadership and character feedback to campers throughout the program
Model leadership and character through fully and enthusiastically participating in camp activities
Join a team of passionate mentors and embody the Point Avenue Ethos to inspire campers to grow personally and collectively
3, Other responsibilities:
Attend and participate in staff meetings when necessary
Document campers’ progress and provide progress reports
Create and plan engaging and exciting activities that support a positive camp experience and social-emotional learning
Help engage our camp parents through supporting parent communication
Promote a safe and constructive environment by holding campers and staff members accountable to camp rules & guidelines
Attend 7 days of pre-camp training
Required Qualifications
Genuine interest in the field of physical education or physical activities
Having experience teaching students of a variety of age groups from 8 to 18 is an advantage
Preferred - Experience working in a boarding camp
Preferred - PE teaching experience
