Job Description:
The Newton Sixth Form
School Background:
The Newton Sixth Form was opened in 2019 and is located in central Bangkok a few minutes’ walk from Siam BTS. The school is open for students in grades 2-7 in the primary section and grades 8-13 in the senior section, focusing primarily on an IGCSE, A-Level, and BTEC curriculum under Pearson. The current teaching team is a mix of international teachers and Thai teachers with native-like accuracy in English. Due to exponential growth moving into the 2023-2024 academic year we are looking to add new members to our existing base of teachers.
Details of the position:
Position 1; EFL/ESL teacher for grades 8-11 teaching pre-IGCSE and IGCSE level English classes. Experience teaching the Pearson IGCSE curriculum would be highly beneficial but not essential as training can be provided.
Position 2; BTEC Art and Design Teacher- The ability to teach any of the following specialisms; Graphic Design, Interior Design, Product Design, and/or Animation is essential. A background in the creative industry with experience in teaching Art and Design would be highly advantageous.
Position 3; Science and math teachers for junior, grades 2-7. The candidate should enjoy working with young learners and bring energy and enthusiasm to the classroom.
Position 4; BTEC Business Teacher; The ability to teach general business is essential and knowledge of data analysis and accounting would be beneficial.
Position 5; General science teachers for pre-IGCSE, or subject-specific science teachers for IGCSE, and A-Level. Experience teaching the Pearson curriculum is highly beneficial but not essential as training can be provided. This position is open to both native English teachers and Thai nationals with a native-like accuracy in English.
Qualifications and experience:
-Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree or above and preferably a teaching qualification such as TEFL or CELTA or above.
-Candidates should have a minimum of one year’s experience delivering in-class teaching of their specialized subject with the relevant age group.
-An understanding of the Pearson IGCSE, IAL, and BTEC Programs would be beneficial but not essential.
-Preference will be given to native English speakers.
Benefits:
-Working hours: 09:00-18:00 Monday-Friday.
-Start date ideally August 2023 however it can be negotiable based on your current circumstances with your employer and employment status.
-Salary: Starting at approximately 50k based on qualifications and experience.
-Lunch included.
-Private health insurance is provided after passing probation.
-12-month contract renewable.
