Job Description:
Announcement for recruitment of English Teachers (NETs) for primary, secondary and special public-sector schools.
The Education Bureau cordially invites you to apply for the NET positions in public-sector primary, secondary and special schools in Hong Kong.
NETs are required to teach English as a second language to Hong Kong students and assist in teacher and curriculum development in public-sector primary schools (for students aged between 6 and 12), secondary schools (for students aged between 12 and 18) and schools for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
Applicants who pass initial screening process must be able to attend a web-interview and written test in person.
Successful candidates will be placed into the EDBs central candidate pool for eligible schools selection upon their requests.
In order to enhance the teaching of English Language and increase exposure of students to English, a Native-speaking English Teacher (NET) Scheme has been implemented in public-sector secondary and primary schools since the 1998/99 and 2002/03 school year respectively.
The programs vision is to provide quality school education for students, to develop their potential to the full and to prepare them for the future challenges in life.

Qualifications
Applicants should be native-speakers of English or possess native-speaker English competence and they have to fulfill the qualification requirements under the NET Scheme.
Please note, we can only accept applications from candidates who can attend in person for the web-interview and written test which will be held in Northwich, Cheshire (UK) on provisional dates in February, March, April and May. Salary and Benefits
The appointment will be on a two-year contract basis, normally starting in mid-August and ending in mid-August two years later, subject to renewal after expiry.
- Salary from HK$34,060 - HK$65,875 / £3,420 - £6,614 per month (primary)
- Salary from HK$34,060 - HK$79,135 per month / £3,420 - £7,946 (secondary)
- End of contract gratuity for satisfactory performance and conduct
- Retention incentive for satisfactory completion of continuous service in the NET Scheme from third year onward
- Passage, baggage, medical allowances and a special allowance of HK$20,989 per month provided for eligible appointees whose normal place of residence is established as outside Hong Kong and if
he/she or his/her spouse is not receiving any similar benefits (Terms Apply)
The salary and the terms and conditions of service to be offered are subject to the appointees qualifications and post-qualification teaching experience and the prevailing conditions at the time the offer of appointment is made.
