Busan Logos International Christian School (BLICS) is an accredited (NCPSA; AI; ACSI) international school. BLICS is the largest Christian school in Busan, and has the best student-to-teacher ratio of any Christian schools in the nation.

BLICS is looking to hire a innovative and energetic Christian teacher in the elementary department. Successful candidates will be hired as a homeroom teacher and given their own classroom.

BLICS Elementary Teaching Position Overview:

School: Busan Logos International Christian School (BLICS)

Location: DaeYeonDong, Busan, South Korea

Grades: K7 - G6
Work days: Monday to Friday
Work hours: 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.; Prep.: 3:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Start Date: August 21, 2023. Orientation and training provided.

BLICS Elementary Teaching Position Job Description:

Successful Candidates will teach Language Arts (Reading; Speaking; Writing; Grammar & Spelling) to BLICS students ranging from Kindergarten to Grade 6. BLICS is an English-only system school, and all classes (except Korean History/Chinese character classes) are taught in English.

Some teacher responsibilities include:
conducting classes; creating/implementing lesson plans; assessing students; providing oral and written feedback to students, parents, staff, colleagues; participating and supporting BLICS Elementary department students’ activities; taking care of the assigned homeroom classroom/students; attending weekly teachers’ meetings; completing assigned duties; and continually supporting BLICS and BLICS students as needed.

Salary and Benefits:

Base Salary: ₩ 2,400,000 (2negotiable—commensurate to Candidate’s education, qualifications, and experience.

Housing: Single Housing Provided; in the alternative, Housing deposit support and housing allowance support provided (₩ 300,000)

Health Insurance: Four Major National Health Insurance Support Provided.

Pension: National Pension support provided.

Renewal Base Salary Raise: Upon successful completion and renewal of work contract, teachers are given a base salary increase.

 

Severance bonus:  Upon successful completion of work contract, teachers are given a severance bonus of one (1) month’s negotiated base salary pay.

Meals provided: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner provided by the school.

Vacation/Holidays: BLICS follows an American school schedule—Fall/Spring Semester. Winter and Summer Vacation days total approximately 45 days. (There will be summer and winter English camp)

Pedagogical Support: BLICS provides the school’s curriculum for teachers, but also supports and respects the creative lesson planning of each individual teacher.

Qualification Requirements:

BLICS is looking for the following qualifications in a successful candidate:

1) A born-again Christian, who confesses Jesus as their Lord and Savior, and lives a life of continued relationship building with God through Word and prayer;             

2) An energetic and experienced English teacher that can create a Christ-centered, student-focused, academically-driven learning environment;

3) Must be a native English speaker; and

4) Minimum: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
English, Linguistics, and graduate degrees/professional license/certificates will be given preference; and

5) Candidates that are currently in Korea will be preferred. International applications are also welcomed, but please be aware of the application process timeline and start date  in consideration of your application for the position.
