To the Sea, To the World! Teach Ambitious Midshipmen in Korea!

The Republic of Korea Naval Academy is accepting applications for qualified English teacher(s) for the 2023-2024 academic year. The R.O.K. Naval Academy is located in Jinhae, Gyeongnam Province, a small coastal city bordering Masan and Changwon, approximately an hour away from Busan.

The contract period for this position is from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024. (Contract renewal will be considered annually based on the performance review, but we do prefer someone who has already lived in Korea and can stay with us for at least THREE years.)

Qualified applicants must be mature and responsible native English speaker(s) who hold(s) a Bachelor's Degree or higher. Teaching experience with a good track record of education is necessary. English or an education-related major and/or TESOL certification or equivalent is a plus.

Duties include, but are not limited to, teaching English conversation (communication) to Midshipmen, teaching required electives, and senior English writing or English-oriented debate classes. The working hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Teaching hours will not exceed 18 hours per week.

Benefits include:

- Monthly salary of 2,700,000 (pre-tax) Korean Won (KRW) per month

- End-of-contract severance pay

- Personal office and access to various facilities (gym, swimming pool, etc.)

- Vacation of approximately 4 weeks (20 days) for summer and 3 weeks (15 days) for winter (a maximum of 35 working days per year in total), plus all Korean National holidays (e.g. Chuseok, Korean Children's Day)
