Job Description:

Qingdao Chungwoon Korean School is looking for a secondary ESL teacher for Grade 7 to Grade 11 students.

The school is a Korean government school, and all students are Korean nationals. It is located in Chengyang District in Qingdao, and we have students ranging from kindergarten to Grade 12. Classes are 25 or less and students are leveled according to their proficiency and fluency. Our students are friendly and enthusiastic about learning.

Teaching hours are 20 x 45-minute classes per week, with participation in some supplementary responsibilities such as diaries and journals, English newsletter, and Model United Nations. Optional afterschool classes are paid at an hourly rate.

Compensation & Benefits:
•    Basic salary: 14,800 RMB monthly
•    Afterschool classes at additional hourly rate
•    Sponsored legal Z work visa
•    Full reimbursement of visa application costs paid for employed teacher and dependents – health check, authentication and notarization of qualifications, translation of qualifications and other documents, visa fees etc.
•    Quarantine costs paid for employed teacher (not dependents)
•    Housing allowance of 3,000 RMB a month (3,500 RMB for a family)
•    Up to 3,000 RMB relocation costs (if entering China from abroad)
•    Up to 3,000 RMB exit flight allowance on final completion of employment (if leaving China)
•    14,800 RMB severance pay on completion of one year contract    
•    50 days paid vacation during summer and winter, plus all Chinese national holidays (no make-up days)
•    Free school lunch

Job Responsibilities:
•    Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 16:30
•    Planning and delivering English lessons to Grade 7 - Grade 11 students using the provided textbooks.    
•    Planning and executing formative assessments of students.
•    Assisting with school English activities such as Newspaper Club or Model United Nations.
•    Teaching English camps during summer and winter vacations.

Requirements:
Contract term:  1 March 2023 to 29 February 2024

Qualifications and experience:    
•    Bachelor’s degree    
•    TEFL, TESOL, CELTA or teacher’s license 
•    Clear criminal background check
•    Two or more years public or private school teaching experience    
•    Z visa requires citizens from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand or South Africa.
