Job Description:

Theodore International School (TIS) in Chumphon, Thailand, is seeking a qualified Secondary Science Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will teach General Science to Grade 8, Biology to Grade 9, and Environmental Science to Grade 12. The role includes approximately 15 periods of teaching, equivalent to about 12 contact hours per week, and additional tutoring for 4-5 hours between 5 pm and 6 pm.

The position offers a salary of 31,000 baht per month, which includes housing and food stipends. Additional benefits include on-campus low-cost housing for 3,000 baht per month and free lunch on working days. Teachers can also earn extra income through tutoring opportunities at 200 to 500 baht per hour and summer school tutoring in June at 500 baht per hour.

The school provides a generous holiday schedule with 35 paid holidays between August and June, featuring extended breaks during Christmas/New Year and Thai Songkran in April. The contract runs from August 3, 2026, to June 4, 2027.

Applicants must have a Bachelor's Degree in Science, a transcript, and a background check. While not mandatory, previous experience teaching Science at the secondary or high school level, a TEFL certification, and familiarity with educational technology like Google Classroom are advantageous.

Our campus boasts modern facilities, including swimming pools, a grass football pitch, a new sports center, and a faculty hub. 📌 Please review the requirements to teach English in Thailand before you start applying for teaching positions. If the job post specifies "NES" or "Native English Speaker", it typically means applicants are required to be from one of the following countries: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, or South Africa. However, in some cases, this may indicate a preference rather than a strict requirement.

⏳ Due to the high number of applications the schools receive they may not be able to respond to every application. If you don't hear back from them within a week or so, it's best to move on to the next job.

⚠️ Watch out for agencies that charge fees or take a cut of your salary. Good agencies get paid by the schools - not by taking money from you. If you’re not sure how they make money, just ask. If they say they take a percentage, that’s a red flag - avoid them and let us know so we can ban them from the site. Unlike other job boards that allow these kinds of agencies to advertise at your expense, we don’t - we’ve already banned several to stop teachers from being underpaid or exploited.

⚠️ When applying for jobs, you should NEVER have to pay to apply. You should also NEVER have to pay to buy anything which they then pay you back for later. NEVER PAY FOR ANYTHING! Also always verify you're actually talking to the company in the job post and not an imposter. Scams in TEFL are rampant, be careful!
