Victoria University English (VUE) is seeking qualified English for Academic Purposes (EAP) teachers to deliver our English language pathway program leading to Victoria University (VU) diplomas and degree programs.
We are recruiting educators for face-to-face teaching at our partner university in the People’s Republic of China. This position is based in Shenyang at Liaoning University, where teachers deliver academic English courses that form the English language requirement for students progressing to VU diploma and undergraduate studies
Position 1 – Immediate Start
We are seeking one teacher for an immediate start.
Preference will be given to candidates who are already in China and able to transfer an existing work permit.
However, applications from candidates outside China are also welcome.
This is a two-semester contract:
Semester 1: March 2026 – July 2026
Semester 2: October 2026 – December 2026
Multiple Positions – New Academic Year
We are recruiting several teachers for the upcoming academic year.
This is a two-semester contract:
Semester 1: October 2026 – December 2026
Semester 2: February 2027 – June 2027
The package includes a competitive salary, an accommodation allowance, international flight, and assistance with the work visa process. Once in China, teachers receive ongoing support from VU English and the local university staff to make the transition as smooth as possible.
About VUE (www.vu.edu.au): We are part of Victoria University (Melbourne, Australia) and we recruit and manage language educators for partner universities in mainland China. The students are in their first and second year of university and they undertake an ELICOS English for Academic Purposes (EAP) preparatory program prior to entry into specialisation courses.
Salary:
$1250 AUD / 6097 CNY per week of teaching during the semester
Qualifications:
Minimum of an undergraduate degree (completed in English) and a CELTA (or strong equivalent)
2 years teaching experience
Strong organisational skills, cultural awareness and flexibility, and ability to problem solve
